What is going viral is being claimed on social media that the Modi government is giving 10 GB of free internet to students every day for online education in the Corona era. There is a link with the viral message, the student is being told that only after clicking on the link will get free data.


The message is: Due to Corona Virus Schools and Colleges have been closed and because of this, the Education of Students has been affected, So Government is providing Free Internet (10GB Per Day) to all the Students.





So that Students can complete their Education and also give Exams with the help of Internet and Online Classes.

And what is true?

The viral message reads: School-college closed due to corona virus. While the Home Ministry has given permission to open the school on October 15 in the guidelines of Unlock-5. This makes it clear that the message is of lockdown time.

We have not found any such news on the internet, which confirms that the government is giving free internet to students.

Clicking on the link that goes viral with the message makes it clear from the URL of the webpage that opens that this is not a government website. The last URL on the government website is gov.in, which is not the case.

We have also not received any update on MHRD and the official website of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting regarding the provision of free internet data. Although we checked the Twitter handle of Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, we did not find any such announcement.
