MIvsKXIP: Super over tie after first match, Punjab beat Mumbai in second super over
- Sunday was a historic day in the IPL. Both the matches played today were tied. In the second match, the first pig was tied and in the second super over, Punjab won.
Sunday became Super Sunday in the IPL. First the match between Kolkata and Hyderabad was tied and then the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab also ended in a tie. Then in the super over too the score remained the same and another super over was needed to be played. In the first super over, both the teams managed to score five runs each. Mumbai scored 11 in the second super over. In response, Punjab scored 15 runs off four balls and won the match. There have been two super overs in a single match in the history of cricket.
Batting first, Mumbai scored 176 for 6 in 20 overs. So Punjab needed 9 runs in the final over to win. The Punjab team was tied for only 8 runs. Punjab also scored 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. This is the fourth match tied this season. So this is the first time in the history of IPL that two matches have been tied in one day.

Punjab's top order flop except Rahul
Chasing Mumbai's target of 177, Kings XI Punjab felt the first tweak in the fourth over of the innings. Jaspreet Bumrah bowled Mayank Agarwal (11). Chris Gayle and Rahul then took the team to 75 runs. Chris Gayle (24) was caught out by Rahul Chahar Bolt. Gayle hit two sixes and a four off 21 balls. Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for 24 off 12 balls with two fours and two sixes. Glenn Maxwell disappointed everyone again. Maxwell (0) was caught out by Rahul Chahar.
Another half century of Rahul
KL Rahul, who has the Orange Cap by his superb form this season, played a resounding 77-run innings. Rahul hit 7 fours and three sixes off 51 balls. He was bowled by Jaspreet Bumrah.
Bumrah's three wickets
Jaspreet Bumrah from Mumbai Indians once again put up a strong performance. Bumrah was quick for three important wickets with 24 runs in four overs. Bumrah dismissed Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Nicholas Puran. Apart from this, Rahul Chahar had two successes.
Bad start for Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai Indians, who batted first, had a bad start. The team lost three wickets for just 38 runs. Mumbai got their first tweak in the form of Rohit Sharma (9). He was bowled by young bowler Arshdeep. Suryakumar Yadav (0) was then dismissed by Shami. Ishaan Kishan (7) was the victim of Arshdeep Singh.
De Kok's third consecutive half century
Mumbai, who lost three wickets for 38 runs, scored 43 runs in the powerplay. De Kok and Krunal Pandya then tried to stabilize the innings. The two had a 58-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Krunal Pandya (34) was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. Pandya hit 4 fours and 1 six in 30 balls. Quinton de Kok scored 53 runs in the third match in a row, hitting a half-century. De Kok hit three sixes and three fours off 43 balls. He was dismissed by Chris Jord.

Pollard-Coulter Nile hit in the final over
Hardik Pandya was out for 8 in Shamini's over. At one point, the Mumbai team was in trouble. Kieron Pollard and Nathan Coulter Nile batted aggressively in the final over to take the team to 175. Pollard hit an unbeaten 34 off 12 balls with four sixes and a four. So Coulter Nile scored an unbeaten 24 off 12 balls with four fours. From Punjab, Shami and Arshdeep got two each and Ravi Bishno and Chris Jordan got one each.
